When HE whispered and called…Linda D. Goss Perkins heard HIM and entered into her sunset on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 after a brief illness. Linda was born to Wardell and Verrena Whitaker-Goss, Wardell from Philadelphia and Verrena from North Carolina, on January 2, 1959, and lived her early childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents later moved to Newark, New Jersey, where she grew up. There, she attended and graduated from Girls Vocational High School.
Linda met and fell in love with Edmond Dantes Perkins, and they were married on February 14, 1985. Together they have a son, Edmond Dantes Perkins II, born to them on May 18, 1978.
Linda later relocated from Irvington, New Jersey, where she lived for many years, to Plainsboro, New Jersey to be close to her son and his family. She worked for many years at Children’s Hospital in Somerset, New Jersey, where she had many friends and co-workers who will miss her.
One of Linda’s favorite vacations was her annual visit to North Carolina, where she spent time with her brother Dwain, and a host of relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Wardell and Verrena Whitaker-Goss and a brother, Jarrell Goss.
She leaves behind to hold her in fond memories: her husband, Edmond D. Perkins, Sr.; her son, Edmond Dantes Perkins, II (Kendra); a granddaughter, Madison-Elle; and siblings Paulette (PA) and Dwain Goss (Mary). There are aunts, uncles, cousins, extended-family members, friends, and a host of others from her North Carolina roots who, with fond memories, will celebrate her life.
Her in-laws, the Perkins’ siblings: Margot, Paulette, Paul, Jr., Anthony, Clyde, Robyn, and Jerome, join our brother and nephew in mourning her passing, and we celebrate her life and will forever cherish all of the memories we will always have of her.
