Carlton Milton Solomon “Bro Ba”, son of the late Fred Elton Solomon and Carrie Lee Alston Solomon, was born April 27, 1956 in Franklin County, North Carolina. He went to his heavenly home on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2020.
Carlton joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until he moved away. During his younger age, he was a member of the Junior Choir and Missionary Department.
Carlton was educated in the Franklin County School System where he graduated from Louisburg High School, after which he attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. His last employment was the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Supervisor and received many certificates and awards with twenty-nine years of service.
Carlton was united in marriage to Eugenia Cooley and to this union three children were born.
Carlton was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Phillip Solomon and Robert Thorpe and one sister, Vanessa Durham.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Brittany Cooley of Charlotte, NC and Gwynn Ingram of Fort Meade, MD; one son, Christopher Hayes of Durham, NC; two Godchildren, Batista Lassiter of Louisburg, NC and George Lassiter, Sr. of Franklinton, NC; two sisters, Hilda Solomon of Louisburg, NC and Shirley Thorp of Chapel Hill, NC; four brothers, Cornelius. Solomon of Louisburg, NC, Ricky Thorpe (Nicole). Of LeLand, NC, Tony Thorpe of Fayetteville, NC and Anthony Thorpe of Garner, NC; three aunts, Shirley Alston of Louisburg, NC, Mamie Yarborough of North Brunswick, NJ and Annie Perry of Henderson, NC; two uncles, Roger Solomon (Barbara) of South Ozone Park, NY and Thomas Moore of Louisburg, NC; two sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends.
