Willie Howard Neal, son of the late Otha and Lucy Neal, was born on April 16, 1941. He departed this life on April 10, 2019 at Kerr Lake Nursing Center.
Howard attended Perry’s High School. Shortly afterwards, he moved to Brooklyn, New York where he lived for most of his life. Howard was a very hard working, self-employed man who knew how to enjoy life. Four years ago, he moved back to North Carolina where he enjoyed the remainder of his life spent with his loving family and friends.
At an early age, Howard joined the Haywood Baptist Church where remained a member until death.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otha and Lucy Neal; five brothers, Otha Neal, Jr., William Neal, Otis Neal, James “Mert” Neal and Jessie Neal; three sisters, Sarah Johnson, Susan Neal and Virginia Neal.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three children - a devoted son, Shelton Branch (Joyce) of the home, Timothy Tucker of Dundalk, MD and one daughter, Teresa Alford Jones of Knightdale, NC; four sisters, Edith Woodard (Eddie) of Louisburg, NC, Alice Monroe (James) of Franklinton, NC, Ruth Neal and Lucy Slater (Theron) both of Henderson, NC; three brothers, Joseph Neal (Barbara), Claude Neal (Brenda) and Eddie Neal (Jessie) all of Henderson, NC; four sisters-in-law, Lonie Neal, Gladys R. Neal, Erma Neal and Lou Neal all of Henderson, NC; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three aunts, Gracie Hargrove of Brooklyn, NY, Gladys Neal and Pearline Neal both of Louisburg, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
