Rosene Cauthen White, daughter of the late John and Mazella Cauthen, was born on February 26, 1941 in McDonald, Pennsylvania. She departed this life September 7, 2019.
Rosene spent her formative years in Cecil, Pennsylvania where she completed her high school education at Cecil High School. She moved to Detroit, Michigan where she was employed as a secretary at The Times Newspaper. Rosene then relocated to Newark, New Jersey where she was employed at Topper Toy Factory. She also worked as a model in Kearney, New Jersey. She was last employed at Woolworth’s for fifteen years, then retired.
Rosene was married to Ira J. White and they had one son. She and her family relocated to her husband’s hometown of Kittrell, North Carolina, where she became a lifelong member of Saint’s Delight United Church of Christ and served as a faithful member until illness rendered her homebound. Rosene was a quiet and kind woman who had a beautiful heart and loved her family and friends.
She leaves to mourn: her husband, Ira J. White of the home; one son, Ira Alonzo Cauthen (Joy) of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, LaToya Cauthen, Omar Cauthen, Jamar Cauthen, and Yamesha Cauthen; one great grandson, Jamar Cauthen, Jr; three sisters, Marie Cauthen of Newark, New Jersey, Mabel Terrell and Frankie Carson both of McDonald, Pennsylvania (two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death); four sisters-in-law, Anita W. Brown, Margaret White and Elenora Kearney all of Kittrell, North Carolina and Cora Williams White of Chesterfield, Virginia; a host of stepchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
