Mozelle R. Thorne, was born on September 16, 1916 in Nash County, North Carolina. God, in His infinite wisdom, decided that it was time for His devoted servant of one hundred and one years to come home.
Mozelle joined Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful until the end.
Mozelle out lived most of her family and friends, but she considered everyone family. She always stated “I had a good life and I enjoyed my life.” Mozelle had one nephew Harvey Taylor that preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her warm memory are: a special great niece, Angela Freeman (Adolph) of Nashville, NC; great niece, Judy Dickens (Lorenza) of Rocky Mount, NC; great nephews, James Taylor (Sherry) and Aaron Taylor both of Nashville, NC, Walter Keith Taylor (Carolyn) and Donald Taylor both of Rocky Mount, NC; one step great niece, Tabitha Hoffler (Clinton) of Alpharetta, GA; many adopted sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and grands to name; special friends often mentioned by Mozelle, Lorenza and Maggie Thorne, Dolphus and Mary Bryant, Charlene Richardson, Irma, Jean and Bud; “one good buddy”, Rozelle Pettiford; fifteen great great nieces and nephews; nineteen great great great nieces and nephews; three great great great great nieces and nephews. Mozelle shared so much love and kindness to everyone that she knew. She will be greatly missed.
