Millard Lowell Sessoms was born January 20, 1938 in Nashville, North Carolina to the late Astor and Annie Lee Sessoms. He peacefully departed this life early Sunday morning, May 27, 2018 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, North Carolina after an extended illness.
Millard was educated in the Nash County Public School System, and was a member of the Nash Central High School class of 1956. Upon graduating, he entered the United States Army where he faithfully served until he was honorably discharged. He eventually moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey to begin a career with Bristol Myers Squibb. His career there lasted over thirty years until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, Millard was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty, Doris, and Undine.
Those left to cherish Millard’s memory are: his two sons, Selwyn Walker of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Sean Sessoms (Micara) of Franklinton, North Carolina; one daughter, Erica Taylor (John) of Durham, North Carolina; two grandsons, Gregory Eli Taylor and Sean Joshua Sessoms; one sister, Arthelia Matthews of Nashville, North Carolina; his special friends, Brenda Jones, Leotha Ricks, Joel Dempsy and Lorenzo Parker; a host of other relatives and friends.
