Beatrice Richardson Shearin, daughter of the late Delno and Elizabeth Lynch Richardson, was born at the family’s home place January 30, 1922 in Halifax, North Carolina. She departed this life on June 26, 2018 at Nash UNC Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
“Bea” was the youngest of six children and she was loved and celebrated by all her extended family. She helped raise many children and was caretaker for her parents.
She joined Pine Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and supported her church until her health failed and she was unable to attend.
Bea was preceded in death by her son, James Artis Richardson and her siblings, Otis, Otelia, Johnnie, Carey, Mary “Sis” and her best friend, Anna Mae Coley.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter, Juanita Richardson of the home; her grandchildren, Christopher Richardson (Donna), Darlene Wright (Rodney), James Artis Richardson, Jr., Michael Lynch (Letitia), Sonya Thornton (Terrence) and Mary Richardson; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lottie Leonard and Ann Shearin; one brother-in-law, Ronald Shearin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
