Charlie Moss Perry, age eighty-one, passed away on Saturday, November, 24, 2018 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Louisburg, North Carolina. He was born on February 20, 1937, in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Bernice Eaton Perry and Mr. Moss (Simon Lee Perry Sr., stepfather). He was the oldest of fourteen children.
Charlie attended Franklin County Training School (FCTS) and Riverside High School in Louisburg, North Carolina, where he developed many life-long skills. Later, he settled in the Boston, Massachusetts area.
Charlie worked at Wade Moore Equipment Company as a truck driver and at Blalock Paving, Inc. for more than ten (10) years as an asphalt roller where he was a dedicated worker. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Mr. Willie Brodie. He considered everyone he met, his cousin.
Charlie accepted Jesus Christ during his stay at Franklin Oaks. He was ministered to by his brother, Simon Lee Perry, Jr..
Charlie was long-time friends with Helen Evans-Perry (ex-wife). They married in Massachusetts and to this union two children were born. One daughter, Helen Regina Perry, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Janet Perry, Willis Ardena Perry, Ross Perry and Johnny Perry.
He leaves to cherish memories of his life: one daughter, Stephanie Joy Evans; two sisters, Michelle Wilson and Peggie A. Dillard (Willie); seven brothers, Larry Perry, Simon Lee Perry, Jr. (Maxine), Bruce Perry (Jan), Dexter Perry (Robin), Bobby Perry, Jeff Perry and Milton Perry (Annette); one aunt, Arlene Eaton Perry; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
