Carolyn Barbara Lois Hight, daughter of the late Robert Lee Hight and Mildred Jiggetts Hight, was born on July 23, 1950 in Franklin County, North Carolina. On February 27, 2019, Carolyn transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Carolyn’s early years were spent in Oxford, North Carolina where she attended Angier B. Duke and Mary Potter High School. She graduated from Mary Potter High School in 1968 and from Shaw University in 1972. Upon graduation, Carolyn moved to Washington, DC where she furthered her education at George Washington University. She was employed with the Federal Government for many years.
At an early age, Carolyn joined the First Baptist Church, Oxford, North Carolina. After moving to Washington, DC, she joined the New Home Baptist Church where she later became an ordained minister.
Carolyn loved her family and enjoyed their many get togethers. She also enjoyed laughing, singing old songs from her youth, reading and doing puzzles.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Hight, and two brothers, Joseph Lee Hight and Julius Hight.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories: four sisters, Mary A Hight of Louisburg, NC, Rosalyn H. Washington of Jacksonville, FL, Lessie Mae Davis and Faye Marie Davis both of Louisburg, NC; one brother, Wayne Davis of Durham, NC; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
