Austina Perry Alston was born on October 25, 1932 to the late Robert Lee “John” and Elnora Perry. She was called to her heavenly home on September 26, 2018 at Transitions Life Care surrounded be her loving family.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a dedicated member until her death. She served in many auxiliaries in the church including usher board, Senior Choir, Mass Choir, Missionary and Pastor’s Aide.
Austina worked at Gay Products, Burlington Industries, Louisburg Nursing Home, Louisburg Manor and Saint Paul Daycare.
She was united in holy matrimony to Arthur “TC” Alston and to this union twelve children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her sons, Arthur Alston, Jr., Anthony Alston and Adolph Johnny Alston; six brothers, David Thomas Perry, Jesse Glenn Perry, Leonard Perry, Curtis Alronald Perry, Robert Perry and Elijah Perry; five sisters, Christine Perry Leak, Julia Belle Perry, Matilda Perry Johnson, Rebecca Perry Leith and Pauline Perry Clifton.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Alvin Sidney Alston (Mary) of Louisburg, NC, Audra Nelson Alston (Jackie) of Knightdale, NC, Alfonzo Alston (Gloria) of Raleigh, NC, Angelio Bernard Alston (Denise) of Knightdale, NC and Aundra Alston of Raleigh, NC; four daughters, Alise Smith (George) of Virginia Beach, VA, Arlene Terrell (Opie) of Louisburg, NC, Annette Alston-Morgan (Tyrone) of Henderson, NC and Angelene Pinkie Alston (Kelvin Marrow) of Louisburg, NC; thirty-six grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Nelson “Pal” Alston and William “Bill” Alston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
