Annie Mae Manley, daughter of the late Percy and Gracie Taylor, was born August 30, 1932 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this life September 17, 2019 at home.
Annie Mae was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved church, cooking and her door was always open to anyone in need of a meal and she was a mother to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Manley, one daughter, Dorothy Battle and grandson, Jessie Battle, three sisters and three brothers, Roxanna Alston, Flossie Coley, Lutoria Richardson, Joe Taylor, Prince Taylor and Charlie Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, James Manley of the home, Herman Manley (Brenda) of Hollister, NC and Johnnie Manley (Ernie) of Nashville, NC; one daughter, Mollie Johnson (Jeff) of Hollister, NC; eight grandchildren, Theresa, Annie, Veronica, Jerome, Nicole, Jasmine, Herman Jr. and Dana; eighteen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; one special son she helped raise, Charlie Boy Wright of Kinston NC; one brother-in-law, Cindell Manley; one nephew, Rev. Kenneth Richardson; a host of other relatives and friends.
